Library
An architectural wonder, the Library was created by the owner and executed by a team of modern day master craftsmen and artists. A white walnut barrel vaulted alcove with cabinets and doors flanked by Carpathian elm columns adorn the entryway. Above the door is a carved ribbon detail with the inscription “AD LIBRORUM.” The two story Palladian window provides a breathtaking view of Lake Erie to the North. An intricately detailed spiral staircase replicating the White House embraces the South. The walls are black walnut with mahogany details and the floor is Brazilian walnut arranged in a double herringbone pattern. The carved Indiana limestone fireplace, a copy of a 17th Century Italian fireplace, features female torsos on intricately carved entablatures. The ceiling painting, a mural entitled "The Battle of Good Versus Evil Throughout the Millennia” was a two-year project from conception to completion beginning with a scale model. The painting itself took eight months to complete by Artur Vasilevich, a postgraduate classical painter from Belarus.
